First, gather all necessary tools such as a wrench, a new oil filter, and some clean rags. Start by locating the oil filter under the car and placing a drain pan under it.

Next, use the wrench to loosen and remove the old oil filter. Be careful not to get any oil on your skin as it can be hot.

Clean the area around the oil filter and then apply a light coating of fresh oil on the rubber gasket of the new filter. Gently screw the new filter in place.
