To do this, you'll need to locate the transmission dipstick, which is usually labeled and located near the back of the engine. Make sure your car is on a flat surface and the engine is warmed up. Pull out the dipstick, wipe it clean, and then reinsert it. Pull it out again and check the level on the dipstick. If it's within the recommended range, you're good to go. Otherwise, you'll need to add some transmission fluid.
