Recently, I have noticed a ticking noise coming from my Kia Ceed's engine. It only seems to happen when the engine is cold and goes away after a few minutes of driving. What could be causing this and is it something I should be worried about?
ReplyHey Samantha, that ticking noise is most likely coming from the valve train. This is a normal sound, especially when the engine is cold. However, if the noise persists even after the engine warms up, it could be a sign of a worn out timing chain or tensioner. I would suggest taking your car to a mechanic for a check-up just to be safe.
Hi Samantha, I had the same issue with my Kia Ceed and it turned out to be a faulty exhaust manifold. The ticking noise was caused by an exhaust leak. I would recommend getting your exhaust system checked by a mechanic. If left unchecked, it could lead to other problems such as decreased performance and increased emissions.
