How do I troubleshoot a check engine light on my Kia Rio?

I recently noticed that the check engine light came on in my Kia Rio and I'm not sure what could be causing it. Can you give me some tips on how to troubleshoot this issue?

First, check to see if the gas cap is on properly. A loose or faulty gas cap can trigger the check engine light.

If the gas cap is not the issue, try using an OBD-II scanner to check for any trouble codes. This will give you an idea of what is causing the light to turn on.

It's also a good idea to check all your engine fluids and make sure they're at the proper levels. Low fluids can sometimes trigger the check engine light.

If you're still having trouble, it's best to take your Kia Rio to a certified mechanic for a diagnostic test. They'll be able to pinpoint the exact issue and provide a solution.

In the meantime, try not to panic. The check engine light can sometimes be triggered by small issues and may not necessarily indicate a major problem with your car.
