The first thing to check would be if there are any leaks in the cooling system. Make sure to inspect all the hoses and connections for any damage or cracks. Also, check the coolant levels to ensure they are at the proper level. If there are no visible leaks, the issue could be with the radiator or water pump.

You may also want to check the thermostat. If it is stuck closed, it can cause the engine to overheat. Consider replacing the thermostat if it hasn't been changed in a while.

Another possible cause could be a malfunctioning radiator fan. This can prevent proper cooling of the engine. You can test the fan by running the engine and checking if the fan turns on. If it doesn't, the fan may need to be replaced.
