Why is my Kia ProCeed engine making a knocking sound?

I've noticed that my Kia ProCeed's engine has been making a knocking sound lately. It seems to happen more when I accelerate or when the car is idling. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Hello Emily, there are a few potential causes for the knocking sound in your Kia ProCeed's engine. It could be due to a lack of lubrication in the engine, worn out engine bearings, or a problem with the spark plugs. I would recommend taking your car to a certified mechanic to diagnose and fix the issue.

Hi Emily, it's possible that your engine is experiencing detonation, which is when the air-fuel mixture ignites prematurely. This can be caused by using low-quality fuel or a faulty knock sensor. I suggest using high-quality fuel and scheduling an appointment with a mechanic to have the knock sensor checked.

Hey Emily, I had a similar issue with my Kia ProCeed and it turned out to be a problem with the timing belt. It's important to get this fixed as soon as possible, as a damaged timing belt can cause serious damage to the engine. I would recommend taking your car to a mechanic ASAP.
