How often should I replace my brake pads in my Kia ProCeed?

I have been driving my Kia ProCeed for about two years now and I am wondering when I should consider replacing my brake pads. I have noticed some noise when I brake, but the mechanic said they still have some life left. Should I wait until they wear out completely or replace them now as a preventive measure?

Hi Samantha, it's always better to err on the side of caution when it comes to brake pads. You can continue driving with the current ones, but it's best to replace them before they wear out completely. As for how often, it depends on your driving habits and the condition of your brake pads. Generally, it's recommended to check them every 12,000 miles or annually, whichever comes first.

Hey Samantha, if you hear noise when you brake, it's a good idea to get them checked out soon. You don't want to risk damaging other components of your braking system. Typically, brake pads should be replaced every 25,000-50,000 miles, but again, it depends on your specific driving habits.
