What does ECO driving mode do in the Kia Niro?

I recently purchased a Kia Niro and noticed there is an ECO driving mode. What exactly does this mode do and should I be using it all the time?

ECO driving mode adjusts the throttle response and shift points to maximize fuel efficiency. It is recommended to use it in city driving or during longer trips to save in gas expenses.

Using ECO driving mode can also reduce the wear and tear on your engine and other components, potentially extending the lifespan of your vehicle.

However, if you are someone who enjoys a more spirited driving experience, it is okay to switch off ECO mode and use the sport mode instead.
