Why does my Kia Picanto engine make a loud noise on startup?

I have noticed that whenever I start my Kia Picanto, the engine makes a loud rattling noise for a few seconds before settling down. What could be causing this and is it something I should be worried about? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It is normal for some engines to make a loud noise on startup, especially on cold mornings. This is usually caused by the engine oil not yet fully circulating and lubricating all the engine components. As long as the noise stops after a few seconds, you have nothing to worry about. Just be sure to keep up with regular oil changes.

The loud noise on startup could be a sign of a worn out timing belt or a loose belt tensioner. It is important to have this checked and replaced if necessary, as a broken timing belt could cause serious engine damage. It is recommended to get this checked by a mechanic as soon as possible.

I had the same issue with my Kia Picanto and it turned out to be a faulty PCV valve. This valve helps regulate the pressure in the engine and if it is not functioning properly, it can cause the loud noise on startup. I would suggest getting this checked and replaced if necessary.
