Why does my Kia Sportage make a strange noise when I turn the steering wheel?

I've noticed that whenever I turn the steering wheel on my Kia Sportage, it makes a weird noise. It almost sounds like grinding or squealing. What could be causing this and is it something I need to get fixed?

It sounds like you may have an issue with your power steering system. This could be caused by low power steering fluid, a malfunctioning power steering pump, or a loose belt. It's important to get this checked out as soon as possible, as steering issues can be dangerous while driving. I suggest taking it to a mechanic to diagnose and fix the issue.

I had the same issue with my Kia Sportage and it turned out to be a loose ball joint. This can often cause strange noises when turning the steering wheel. I would recommend taking your car to a trusted mechanic and having them check all of the suspension components for any issues.

It's possible that your Kia Sportage has a faulty steering column. This could be due to wear and tear or a manufacturing defect. I suggest taking it to a Kia dealership and having them look into it. They should be able to diagnose and fix the issue for you.
