Why is my Kia Picanto making a screeching noise?

I have noticed that my Kia Picanto is making a loud screeching noise, especially when I turn the steering wheel. I don't know much about cars, so I'm not sure what could be causing this. Can someone please explain why this is happening and if it's something I should be concerned about?

Hi Jennifer! The screeching noise you are hearing could be coming from a worn out serpentine belt. This belt is responsible for powering the steering and other components in your car. If it is worn out, it can cause unwanted noises. I would suggest getting it checked by a mechanic to see if it needs to be replaced.

Hi Jennifer! Another possible cause of the screeching noise could be a loose or worn out pulley. The pulley is responsible for keeping the serpentine belt in place and if it is loose or damaged, it can cause the belt to make noise. It's best to have a mechanic take a look and replace any faulty pulleys.

Hey Jennifer! I had a similar issue with my Kia Picanto and it turned out to be a problem with the power steering pump. If the pump is failing, it can cause loud noises when turning the steering wheel. It's important to get this checked and replaced if necessary, as a failing power steering pump can also impact your car's handling.
