I have noticed that my Kia Rio engine has started making a strange knocking noise. It seems to happen more often when I am accelerating. What could be causing this and what should I do?
ReplyIt is possible that the knocking noise is due to low engine oil levels. Check your oil and top it off if necessary.
Another potential cause could be worn out engine bearings. This is a more serious issue that should be looked at by a mechanic.
If the noise only occurs when the engine is cold, it could be a sign of a faulty valve lifter. Have a mechanic check this out.
