Why is the Kia Niro's fuel economy not as high as advertised?

I recently purchased a Kia Niro and I was expecting to get the advertised fuel economy of 50 mpg. However, I have been getting around 40 mpg on average. Is there something wrong with my car or is the advertised fuel economy not accurate?

It is common for the advertised fuel economy to differ from the actual fuel economy you get in real-world driving conditions. Many factors such as driving habits, traffic, and road conditions can affect the fuel economy.

Make sure that you are driving in the Eco mode and avoiding excessive idling or aggressive acceleration. These can greatly affect your fuel economy.

Regular maintenance of your car, such as oil changes and tire rotations, can also improve your fuel economy. Make sure you are following the recommended maintenance schedule for your Kia Niro.
