I recently replaced my tires and the TPMS light is still on. I've read that I can reset it myself, but I'm not sure how. Can you walk me through the steps?
ReplyFirst, make sure the car is turned off and the key is removed from the ignition. Then, press and hold the TPMS button located on the left side of the steering wheel until the TPMS light blinks three times. This will put the system into initialization mode. Start the car and let it run for at least 20 minutes to allow the TPMS sensors to synchronize with the new tires.
Another option is to use a TPMS reset tool. You can find these at most auto parts stores. Follow the instructions that come with the tool to reset the system.
