I recently noticed that one of the headlights on my Kia Sorento is out. How do I go about changing it myself without having to take it to a mechanic? I am not very familiar with cars, but I am willing to learn.
ReplyFirst, you will need to locate the headlight assembly under the hood. It should be behind the front grill or inside the engine bay. Once you locate it, you can access the headlight bulb by twisting the cover counterclockwise and pulling it out.
Next, you will need to disconnect the wiring connector from the back of the headlight bulb. This can be done by pushing down on the clip and pulling it off. Be careful not to pull too hard and damage the wiring.
Then, remove the old bulb and replace it with a new one. Make sure to handle the new bulb with gloves to avoid getting any oils on it, which can cause it to burn out faster. Push the new bulb into place, making sure it is secure.
