Why is my Kia Rio engine overheating?

I have a Kia Rio and recently I've noticed that the engine temperature gauge has been reaching near the red zone. What could be causing this issue and how can I fix it?

One possible reason for your engine overheating could be a faulty radiator fan. You can test this by turning on your car and letting it idle for a few minutes. If the fan doesn't kick on, then it may need to be replaced.

Another common cause of overheating is a low coolant level. Check your coolant reservoir and top it off if needed. If you notice the level is frequently low, there may be a leak in the system that needs to be addressed.

It's also possible that your thermostat is not functioning properly. This can cause your engine to overheat, especially in hot weather. Consider having your thermostat replaced if it hasn't been done in a while.
